Wooden Deck Installation in Dubai

Nothing feels quite like real timber underfoot. A hardwood deck stays cooler than composite in the sun and ages beautifully when oiled. We install hardwood and treated timber decks on solid, well-ventilated frames with stainless fixings, then finish them with UV oil.

Building Timber Decks for Hot Climates

Timber moves with heat and humidity. Boards are left to acclimatise on site before fixing, spaced to allow movement and drainage, and fixed with two screws at each joist so they stay flat.

Airflow under the deck matters as much as the boards. A raised frame with ventilation lets moisture escape, so joists and boards dry out after irrigation or rain instead of rotting.

For low-maintenance alternatives, see composite deck installation. For oiling, see deck staining and sealing, and for furniture, wood furniture staining.

01 / Timbers

Deck Timbers Used in Dubai

01

Ipe

One of the densest decking hardwoods, naturally resistant to rot and insects. It is very durable in heat. It weathers to silver if not oiled.

02

Bangkirai

A strong tropical hardwood with a warm golden brown colour. It is good value for its durability. It suits gardens and terraces.

03

Teak

Naturally oily timber that handles water and sun well. It is ideal for pool and yacht-style decks. It is premium priced.

04

Treated Pine

Pressure-treated softwood that resists rot. It is the most affordable option. It needs regular staining in Dubai sun.

Wooden Deck Installation in Dubai: FAQs

How Much Does Wooden Deck Installation Cost in Dubai?

Hardwood decks start from about AED 450 per square metre supplied and installed. Treated pine costs less, and teak costs more. Prices vary and can change depending on your exact requirements, the materials and access to the property, so the final price is confirmed after we see photos or visit.

When Should I Re-Seal or Re-Stain My Deck?

In Dubai, timber decks usually need re-oiling or re-staining every 6 to 12 months because of strong UV. If water no longer beads on the surface or the colour has turned grey, it is time. WPC decks do not need staining, only cleaning.

What Is the Difference Between Staining and Sealing?

A stain adds colour and UV protection, while a sealer repels water without changing the colour much. Many deck oils do both. In Dubai's sun, a pigmented stain or oil lasts longer than a clear sealer.

How Do I Fix Loose Deck Boards?

Loose boards are usually caused by nails or screws that have backed out as timber moves in the heat. We remove the old fixings, replace them with stainless deck screws or hidden clips and replace any split boards.

How Long Does Wooden Deck Installation Take in Dubai?

A typical garden deck takes four to seven days, including oiling.
