Shower Floors and Walls
The highest-risk area in any home. Water collects on the floor and runs down the walls daily. A damaged membrane here quickly leaks into the unit below.

When tiles come up in a shower, on a balcony or around a pool, the waterproof layer underneath is often damaged too. Retiling without restoring it means the next leak is only a matter of time. We apply waterproofing to repaired areas before the tiles go back down.
Where Water Gets In
The highest-risk area in any home. Water collects on the floor and runs down the walls daily. A damaged membrane here quickly leaks into the unit below.
Open showers with level floors need the entire floor waterproofed. Every repair must reconnect to the surrounding membrane. Falls to the drain are checked too.
Rain, cleaning water and AC condensate soak into failed balcony floors. Water then travels into the slab and the ceiling below. Repairs need a UV-stable outdoor membrane.
Splashing pool water carries chlorine into joints and cracks. Waterproofing protects the slab under the coping and deck. It must resist chemicals as well as water.
Leaks under sinks and around dishwashers damage floors over time. Repaired areas are sealed before retiling. It stops slow, hidden water damage.
Washing machine leaks and overflows soak into tiled floors. Waterproofing contains the water. Neighbours below stay dry.
Keep Water Out
Tiles look waterproof, but the real protection is the membrane underneath. Every time tiles are lifted in a wet area, that membrane needs repairing.
We dry, prime, reinforce and coat the repaired area with a liquid membrane that overlaps the existing one, then flood test where practical before retiling.
Our Process
Damaged tiles are removed and the substrate is cleaned and allowed to dry. Wet substrates are measured with a moisture meter before any coating.
A primer is applied, and reinforcing tape or fabric is bedded into corners, joints and around drains, where leaks usually start.
Two coats of liquid waterproofing membrane are applied, overlapping onto the sound existing membrane so there is no gap.
Wet areas are flood tested where practical. Once cured, the tiles are reinstalled, grouted and sealed.
Tiles and grout are not waterproof on their own. In wet areas, the real barrier is a membrane under the tiles. When tiles are lifted for repair, that membrane is usually cut, scraped or cracked. Put new tiles straight back on, and water finds the gap.
In Dubai apartment buildings, a shower leak often shows up first as a stain on the ceiling of the unit below. By then the slab is soaked. Restoring the membrane during repair costs very little compared with that kind of damage and the dispute that follows.
Waterproofing is often combined with regrouting and epoxy grout for high-moisture areas. For commercial kitchens and pools, see commercial tile and grout repair.
Pricing Guide
Waterproofing is priced by area and location. Outdoor and pool membranes cost more because they must resist UV and chemicals.

Tools and Materials
A flexible coating applied by brush or roller in two coats. It forms a seamless barrier under tiles. It bonds to concrete, screed and old membrane.
Bedded into the membrane at corners, joints and drains. These are the points that crack first. Reinforcement keeps them sealed.
Flexible collars that connect the membrane to the floor drain. Most shower leaks start at the drain. A proper collar closes that gap.
Confirms the substrate is dry enough before coating. A membrane over a wet slab will fail. Readings are taken before every application.
Based in Al Barsha since 2014, we work across every Dubai community with trade-specialist technicians and a workmanship guarantee on every job.
Every wet-area repair includes restoring the waterproof layer. Tiles never go back on a broken membrane. Leaks do not follow the repair.
The new coating connects to the existing membrane. There is no weak seam at the edge of the repair. The barrier is continuous.
Shower floors are tested with water before retiling where practical. Problems are found while they are easy to fix. You get proof the repair holds.
If a leak needs a plumber or a full waterproofing contractor, we tell you. You get the right trade for the problem. Nothing is hidden under new tiles.
Waterproofing a small repaired area starts from AED 300, a shower floor from AED 450 and a balcony from AED 600. Tile removal and retiling are quoted together with the waterproofing. Prices vary and can change depending on your exact requirements, the materials and access to the property, so the final price is confirmed after we see photos or visit.
Epoxy grout is waterproof resin grout used in showers, kitchens and pools. It reduces water passing through the joints, but it does not replace a waterproof membrane.
Water passing through grout carries minerals and mould, staining it. Persistent dark patches in a shower can be a sign of water getting behind the tiles.
If the membrane is intact and tiles are sound, regrouting is the cheaper fix. If water is already getting behind the tiles, lifting them and waterproofing is the lasting repair.
Not usually. Membranes need curing time between coats and before retiling, so most jobs run over two visits. Small areas can sometimes be done in one long day.
We waterproof repaired showers, wet rooms, balconies and pool surrounds in apartments and villas across Dubai.
