Porcelain and ceramic tiles cover most floors and walls in Dubai homes. Porcelain is dense and tough enough for floors and outdoors, while ceramic is lighter and easy to cut for walls. We install both, from small wall tiles to large format porcelain slabs, with the right adhesive for each.

Tiles
Tough
Dense, with very low water absorption. It suits floors, wet areas and outdoors. It needs polymer-modified adhesive.
Walls
Lighter and softer, easy to cut. It suits walls and splashbacks. It is usually lower cost.
Formats
60 x 120 cm and bigger for fewer joints. Needs a very flat base. Two-person handling and clips.
Plank tiles that look like timber. Waterproof and tough. Staggered at a third to avoid lippage.
60 x 60 cm porcelain is the Dubai standard. Easy to match. Quick to lay.
Glossy or matt wall tiles. Easy to cut around fittings. Ideal for bathrooms and kitchens.
Porcelain absorbs almost no water, so basic cement adhesives do not grip it well. Polymer-modified C2 adhesives are the minimum.
Wood-look plank tiles have a slight bow. Staggering joints at a third of the length, not half, keeps the floor flat.
For floors, see floor tile installation. For walls, see wall tile installation, and for marble, marble and granite tiles.

Often, yes, if the old tiles are flat, firmly bonded and not hollow. We test them, prime with a bonding primer and use a suitable adhesive. Door heights and floor levels are checked first.
Small splashbacks can be a DIY project. Floors, wet areas and large format tiles need flat preparation, waterproofing and precise setting, and mistakes are costly to undo.
A bathroom usually takes three to five days including waterproofing and curing. A kitchen splashback is often done in a day. Floors depend on the area and tile size.
