Wood Staining
Timber panelling, slatted feature walls and wainscoting add warmth, but older panels can look heavy and dated. We restain panelling a lighter or deeper tone, paint it in a modern colour, or oil new slats so they glow.
Dark panelling can make rooms feel smaller. Painting it in a soft colour or restaining a lighter oak tone keeps the texture while brightening the space.
Slatted walls need patience: each slat and gap is finished so colour stays even when light hits it from the side.
For new panelling, see woodwork and trim. For wall painting, see interior painting, and for colours, custom colour stains.

Paint covers the wood with an opaque colour and hides the grain. Stain soaks in and changes the colour while keeping the grain visible. Varnish or lacquer is a clear protective coat on top. Many jobs combine a stain with a varnish or oil.
We stock natural, oak, teak, walnut, mahogany, ebony, grey and white-wash tones from trusted brands, and can mix custom shades. We test samples on your timber before staining.
Matte looks natural and hides marks, satin is a practical middle ground for furniture and doors, and gloss is the most wipeable but shows scratches. Most Dubai homes choose matte or satin.
