Knock Test
Knock firmly with your knuckles across the wall. A hollow, drum-like sound means gypsum board on metal studs, and a duller patch every 40 to 60 cm marks a stud. A dull, solid thud everywhere means concrete or block.

Every fixing in your home, from a TV bracket to a towel rail, starts with a hole. We identify the wall, scan for pipes and live cables, and choose the bit and anchor that suit it. No cracked marble, no drilled pipes, no shelves pulling out of gypsum.

A hole in the wrong place can hit a water pipe, a live cable or steel rebar. A hole drilled the wrong way can crack a marble slab or crumble a gypsum board. We avoid both with a detector scan, the correct bit for the surface and the right drilling speed.
Our technicians carry SDS masonry bits for concrete, HSS bits for gypsum, water-cooled diamond core bits for marble and porcelain, and a full range of anchors. Dust is caught at the hole with a vacuum attachment, so your floors and furniture stay clean.
Knock firmly with your knuckles across the wall. A hollow, drum-like sound means gypsum board on metal studs, and a duller patch every 40 to 60 cm marks a stud. A dull, solid thud everywhere means concrete or block.
A thin pin or nail pushes into gypsum easily and stops dead on concrete. We use a small test hole hidden behind where the bracket will sit. That one hole tells us the wall type and the depth of the board.
The dust from the test hole is a reliable clue. White powder means gypsum, grey dust means concrete or block, and red or orange dust means clay brick. Black or metal shavings mean we have touched a stud or rebar and should move.
Walls between apartments, around lift cores and along corridors are usually concrete. Walls inside an apartment, such as between bedrooms, are often gypsum. Villa walls are mostly concrete block, with gypsum used for false ceilings and bulkheads.

Water pipes in Dubai apartments often run up the wall behind the kitchen sink, the washing machine and the bathroom basin, then across to the next fitting. Electrical cables usually run straight up or down from sockets and switches. Drilling in those zones without scanning is how most accidental leaks and tripped circuits happen.
Before each hole, we scan with a detector that picks up live AC wiring, metal pipes and studs. We mark clear zones in pencil and, on concrete, slow down when the bit approaches the depth where steel rebar usually sits.
Marble and porcelain need patience. Hammer drilling shatters the glaze, so we use a diamond core bit at low speed, cool it with water, and only switch to a masonry bit once we are through the stone and into the wall behind.
These methods sit behind every job on our TV wall mounting in Dubai page, and the same care goes into curtain rod, track and rail installation in Dubai.
Pricing Guide
Most drilling is part of a bigger job such as mounting a TV or shelves. A standalone fixing visit covers several holes, while stone takes more time per hole.
From AED 150*
Several holes and standard fixings on gypsum or concrete.
From AED 40 per hole*
Water-cooled diamond core bit, drilled slowly.
From AED 80*
For heavy items on gypsum partitions.
From AED 100*
Filling, sanding and painting old fixing holes.
*Prices shown are starting guides only. They vary and can change depending on your requirements, the size of the job, the surface, the materials and access to your building. You agree the final price before any work begins.
Tools and Materials
Hammer-action bits for reinforced concrete and block. They cut cleanly and quickly through dense walls. Hammer action is only used on solid masonry.
Water-cooled bits for marble, granite and porcelain. They cut without shattering the glaze or cracking the slab. Water cooling stops the stone overheating.
Sharp bits for gypsum board and timber, used without hammer action. They leave a clean hole that holds the anchor tightly. Hammer action would crush the board.
A scanner that finds live AC wiring, metal pipes and studs behind the surface. It marks the safe zones before we drill. It is used before every single hole.
Based in Al Barsha since 2014, we work across every Dubai community with trade-specialist technicians and a workmanship guarantee on every job.
Every hole is scanned first, and pipe zones near kitchens and bathrooms are avoided. Accidental leaks are prevented, not repaired. Kitchens and bathrooms get extra care.
Marble and porcelain are drilled slowly with diamond bits and water cooling. The slab stays intact. Marble slabs are expensive to replace, so we take our time.
A vacuum attachment catches dust at the hole. Your floors and furniture stay clean. Dust sheets protect the floor as well.
We book within your tower's drilling hours and arrange permits where needed. You will not be fined because of our visit.
A handyman visit for drilling and fixing starts from AED 150, which covers several holes and standard fixings. Drilling through marble or porcelain with a diamond core bit costs more per hole because it is slow, careful work. Prices vary and can change depending on your exact requirements, the materials and access to the property, so the final price is confirmed after we see photos or visit.
Yes. We find the metal studs behind the board and fix into them, or use rated spring toggles for lighter screens. Heavy screens and full-motion brackets on gypsum get a backing plate to spread the load.
It is safe when the wall above stays cool and there is no flue or wiring where we need to drill. We scan the area first and check the surface temperature with the fire running if it is a real one.
TV mounting starts from AED 150 for screens up to 55 inches on your own bracket. Marble walls and large screens are priced on top. Prices vary and can change depending on your exact requirements, the materials and access to the property, so the final price is confirmed after we see photos or visit.
Most fixing jobs take 30 to 90 minutes. Each hole through marble or porcelain takes around 10 to 15 minutes on its own because the bit must stay cool.
We scan the wall with a multi-sensor detector for live wires, metal and studs before drilling. We also avoid the zones directly above and below sockets and switches, and the area around bathroom and kitchen fittings where pipes usually run.
Areas We Cover
We drill and fix on every wall type found in Dubai homes, in every community. Let us know your building, and we will book a slot within its permitted drilling hours.
TV, shelves, mirrors, curtains. We will plan the holes, the fixings and one visit.
