Stair and Banister Repair

Stair Frame Reinforcement in Dubai

Timber and steel staircases, such as loft stairs, mezzanine stairs and floating designs, can bounce or flex when someone walks quickly. That movement loosens joints over time. We stiffen stringers, supports and landings so the staircase feels solid.

Stopping Stair Bounce

Bounce usually means a long, unsupported span or fixings working loose. Adding support at the right point often removes the bounce completely while keeping the staircase's look.

Concrete stairs rarely bounce. If a concrete stair shows cracking or movement, it needs a structural engineer, and we will tell you.

For creaks, see loose and creaky stairs. For metal work, see welding and bracket replacement, and for posts, banister post reinforcement.

01 / Staircases

Staircases That Commonly Need Reinforcing

01

Timber Loft and Mezzanine Stairs

Lightweight stairs added later to reach lofts or studios. They often flex mid-span. A support post or doubled stringer stiffens them.

02

Floating and Cantilever Stairs

Treads fixed only to a wall or central spine. Fixings loosen and treads bounce. Fixings are renewed and treads reset.

03

Steel Spiral Stairs

Spirals in duplexes and roofs. Bolts loosen at the column. Treads are re-tightened and bracing added.

04

Outdoor Steel Stairs

Stairs to roofs and service areas exposed to sun. Rust weakens joints. Joints are welded and treated.

02 / Process

How We Reinforce a Staircase

  1. 01

    Find the Movement

We load the stair and watch where it flexes.

  2. 02

    Plan the Fix

Doubled stringers, posts, brackets or bolts are chosen for the structure.

  3. 03

    Reinforce

Supports are added and fixings renewed without spoiling the look.

  4. 04

    Retest

The staircase is load tested again for any movement.

Stair Frame Reinforcement: FAQs

How Much Does Stair Reinforcement Cost in Dubai?

Stair frame reinforcement starts from AED 500. Steel stairs needing welding and larger structures are quoted after inspection. Prices vary and can change depending on your exact requirements, the materials and access to the property, so the final price is confirmed after we see photos or visit.

When Should I Call a Carpenter for My Staircase?

Call when a handrail moves, a tread creaks or flexes, a spindle is loose or missing, or the finish has worn through. Loose railings are a fall risk and should be fixed promptly.

Are Banisters Designed to Meet Safety Standards?

We build and repair banisters to current safety guidance, with suitable height, strength and gaps small enough that a small child cannot pass through, and advise if an existing banister falls short.

How Much Does Stair Railing Repair Cost in Dubai?

Stair and railing repairs start from AED 250 per visit for tightening, re-fixing and small part replacements. Handrails, treads and custom banisters are quoted by length or number of steps. Prices vary and can change depending on your exact requirements, the materials and access to the property, so the final price is confirmed after we see photos or visit.
